At the end you have what appears to be a poster or print with the bible verse, "Judge for yourselves, is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered." I am interested where to find such a poster??
Thanks.

Meg and other readers, this is not my video, so I am not sure where the photo or poster could be found. That particular image has been used a few times, that I have found in my research, and I am not sure who the woman in the photo represents or who the photographer is. It is a lovely photo, I think, and I used it myself in a collage once. If anyone does find the origins of the unidentifiable woman (mixed Asian-European heritage, perhaps?) with a grayish green headcovering loosely falling down her head and mostly covering her hair, please post the information here. Thank you. - LisaM

Hi, I like your blog. I am a Muslim woman that covers her hair and just wrote a piece about how I admire the Christian headcoverings on my Scarf Ace blog.

God made us who we are. Why cover our heads, Eve never wore a covering. Paul was a man, did JESUS say to? The Bible says love others as you love yourself and the rest will follow!
Im not tryin to be rude, just curious.

Dear Anonymous,
I agree with you that God made us as we are, but we learned that we must put on clothes as he clothed the first people when they learned they were naked. We don't live as adults in the same way that we lived as children.
I believe as many others do, that Paul - though he was a man - is also a man who was inspired by God to write what he did. If we discount part of what he taught because we feel he must have been in error, then we must discount what he taught on grace, forgiveness, or even about Christ.
Jesus did teach that we are to love others as we would be loved, and the wearing of a covering for the reasons of humbleness, of putting away our distractions during worship, modesty on both levels - these reasons for covering among others DO in fact show love and concern for our family in Christ.
Thank you for your questions, as they do show that you (and probably many others who haven't written to me) are still asking and not just assuming things about those who wear head coverings. I don't take your questions as rude, and I hope that you don't take my answers as rude either.
God's love and peace be with you as you grow in knowledge and faith,
LisaM

Thank you for writing to clarify this.
From the question "God made us who we are, so why do we need to cover?" you asked about their reasoning for covering themselves in the beginning.
Were they insecure? Of course. And the verses say that they were ashamed - but not because they were disobeying; it was because they were naked. (see text below) They were not clothed because they felt insecure, but because now they understood what was the difference between being clothed and unclothed. Something extra was added to what they now had to do with that realization of their nakedness - they had to put something on.
And so my correlation from this body covering to head covering: an additional covering to hair is not something we are born with, just as we are not born with clothes, but we learn to "put on" something - to cover the nakedness of our bodies, and some of us learn to cover the glory of our own heads as well.
I hope this makes sense.

Excerpted from Genesis 3: 7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
...
21Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Is there a reason that Catholics are listed under the category of Christian when Christ never taught that anyone is to worship his mother? [This is not meant to be disrespectful to anyone or any group. I have friends of many faiths.] Just curious.
