Egypt’s Abu Ismail: no veil is “criminal”

Egypt’s Abu Ismail tells TV host Reem Maged to cover, says no veil is “criminal” - Bikya Masr : Bikya Masr

I still believe that covering is a woman's choice. She should neither be barred from covering nor forced to cover. Interested in what others think about this point of view. Can it happen in Egypt?

Assalaam waliekum. I think this issue is a middle of the ways. Muslim women should not be forced to observe hijab yet at the same time, they should keep in mind the obligation decreed for the Muslims by Allah SWT & His Messenger. No veil is not "criminal", it's a disobedience towards Allah SWT.

No one should be forced, but as Gail said, a woman should be mindful of her religion's view on the head covering.
